This is a really nice train or road set, and I found Thomas would pull it just as easily as the road truck would. I also found the rockets can be fairly easily removed but found no clue as to whether they are supposed to our not. So, a great little set that will work on carpet or track.
My 18 month old loves this toy. We have had magnetic wooden train toys before, but never a rocket. This has 1 main "engine" carriage, and 3 rockets. The rockets are all detachable from their wooden bases.Whilst I haven't tried, these look exactly the same size as several known brands of these wooden trains and I expect they would be compatable. The fact that they are rockets rather than trains is something different. These are well made, and would make a lovely gift.
